David Vilec is the founder of LS Disability. Mr. Vilec graduated from Eureka High in 1986 and he has lived in Humboldt County since 1980. He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Southern California (B.S. 1990) and received his law degree from Southern Methodist University (J.D. 2005). Mr. Vilec began his professional career as a Process and Project Engineer, which required him to travel to various locations throughout the United States and the world. When the challenges of engineering waned, he sought a legal education so he could solve large problems that have a meaningful impact on individual people. Mr. Vilec specialized in Intellectual Property, Immigration, and International Business. Upon graduation in 2005, Mr. Vilec began working at the Law Office of Lorna Steward as a disability advocate for Social Security disability clients. In 2014, Mr. Vilec founded LS Disability to continue his work and “fight the good fight” with his mother, Lorna Steward.
